With
the advent of the rapid development of the exchange of interactive information
flows in the social sphere of society, the interest in the phenomenon of
communicative aggressive practices has increased, which has led to the creation
(generation) of new forms of mass communication, implemented with the aim of
disruptive (destructive) impact on the chosen target attack and attack of the
opponent. In these circumstances, all kinds of types, types and subspecies
(varieties) of agonal communicative practices, including verbal-aggressive
practices of "verbal combat", which are aimed at achieving an unconditional
victory over their rivals, opponents, opponents or competitors using all sorts
of means of verbal erection. The paper considers the emergence of a modern trend
of pragmatic drift of rap-discourse, extending the communicative-functional
space of manifestation of its new varieties. Brief descriptions of the selected
varieties of battle discourse are given.

FUTURE AS PROJECTED FROM THE PAST: A CASE OF ENGLISH FOLK-TALES

The article analyses elements representing fantastic phenomena of the worldview
reflected in English folk-tales. Many of those phenomena earlier treated as
non-real ones within the framework of folk-tale discourse signify real objects
nowadays. The approach applied revealed the prognostic role of the naive
worldview, when the imagined reality of the old folk-tales later on turned into
present-day reality. The article aims at singling out and systematizing
linguocognitive specifics of the non-real world representation. The full
sampling method analysis lead to shape the corpus of fantastic phenomena as a
part of the naive worldview of English people. Moreover, the results of the
present investigation make it possible to analyse the way of thinking; national
and cultural conscience of English and their ethnic mentality, as well as their
community linguistic worldview.

The article is devoted to lexical methods and techniques of reproduction of the
Pomor dialect in the speech interpretation of the prose of Boris Shergin. Based
on the material of stories from different years, it is shown that the variable
use of verbal images in the works of the writer reveals the fate of the Pomors,
their customs, moral and ethnic values of the inhabitants of the Pomor region.

ANALYTICAL DIMINUTIVE DESIGNATIONS OF A PERSON IN ENGLISH

This article deals with English designations of a person diminutive semantics of
which is expressed by analytical means. Main structural types of analytical
diminutive designations of a person in English are described, namely, free
word-group, phraseological unit and rhyming slang. Distinctive features of
analytical diminutives revealing different means of expressing diminutive
semantics of a word-group have been singled out. Diminutive meaning can be
realized at the level of minor syntax by means of additional words: adjectives
of the lexico-semantic field “smallness” and nouns with diminutive markers. The
influence of context on the realization of the diminutive meaning in analytical
word-forms is specified. Analyzed diminutives proved to be low-colloquial
lexical units with emotional and expressive significance.

CONTRASTING PRINCIPLE OF COMPOSITE PERFORMANCE
STRUCTURING

The article marks out the principles of vector contrast (duality) relations,
which form the cognitive basis of composite constructiveness. Features of con-structive
opposite positivity are described and verbal manifestations of typical modal
postures «I» of the talking subject as cognitive agent are fixed. It has been
determined that the features of constructive oppositeness affect the
characteristic manifestations of modal postures of «I» speaker, which reflect
the cognitive nature of composite performances based on composite articulation
«performance element and additional drill components» in the form of a matrix
model: PE + DSK.

The paper addresses lexicographic treatment of English personal names, surnames
and nicknames in specialized onomastic dictionaries and electronic corpora.
Lexicographic techniques of the description of anthroponyms as the major units
for transmitting information about traditions and cultural values of the English
speaking community are determined. Trends in setting of entries, selection and
arrangement of word meanings, volume of encyclopaedic and linguistic
information, role of illustrative material are considered.
